Spicewood Gardens is located in Sheridan just west of State Road 38 off of 2nd Street.

 

Spicewood Gardens offers a total of 66 residences to be enjoyed by seniors aged 55 and older. Each apartment features two bedrooms, appliances including a washer and dryer, and accessibility features such as low-step showers and grab bars. Other amenities include a community center and leasing office which offer a multi-purpose room, social room as well as a community garden area for use by Spicewood residents.

Spicewood Gardens is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Silver Certified through the United States Green Building Council. Spicewood Gardens, along with Plum Tree Gardens, were the first affordable housing projects to achieve LEED Certification in Central Indiana. HAND also joins an elite group of non-profit organizations to develop LEED Certified Multi-Family Affordable Developments in the State of Indiana. Spicewood Garden features energy-efficient fixtures, such as Energy Star-rated windows and appliances, programmable thermostats, and compact fluorescent light bulbs. These features will not only help the environment, but they will also benefit the residents by reducing their utility costs as less energy will be used.
