Plum Prairie Block Party & Ribbon Cutting Recap

On Monday, September 16, at 2 PM, we celebrated the grand opening of Plum Prairie with a block party and ribbon-cutting event. Mayor Chris Jenson of Noblesville helped cut the ribbon, marking the culmination of a major rehabilitation project on Historic Pleasant Street.

The Historic Transformation

Plum Prairie’s transformation includes two 100-plus-year-old homes and a new 2-bedroom house, which will provide four affordable rental units for low-income residents. The homes were donated to HAND by the City of Noblesville in 2022, after the Pleasant Street extension was rerouted to preserve the historic neighborhood. These homes will offer high-quality, affordable living for those earning up to 60 percent of the area median income.

Event Turnout

The event saw a fantastic turnout from the community, with neighbors eager to see the renovations and new construction up close. With hot dogs, popcorn, and fun games, the afternoon was filled with celebration and optimism for the future.
